Aboul Enein: Utilizing the New Dry Port in 10th of Ramadan to Boost Industry Localization

MP Mohamed Aboul Enein, Deputy Speaker of the House, expressed support for the joint committee’s report on the government’s draft law granting a private partnership commitment to finance, design, build, operate, and maintain the new dry port and logistics center in 10th of Ramadan City.

During the discussion, Aboul Enein praised the government’s approach to international agreements and highlighted the strategic significance of this dry port project, particularly in collaboration with the global trade company, Medlog. He urged for maximizing the added value of this project to strengthen the local industry, noting that 10th of Ramadan City is considered Egypt's industrial capital.

Aboul Enein also emphasized the importance of integrating global supply chains in Egypt, given its unique geographic location, and suggested that Egypt’s dry port and logistics strategy be marketed internationally to attract more investment.

He stressed the need to enhance Egypt’s infrastructure, including railway transport and Nile River utilization, to fully localize supply chains, pointing out that Egypt’s road quality ranks 18th globally. The new dry port project, he argued, offers a critical opportunity to advance these initiatives and elevate Egypt’s industrial standing on the world stage.

The House of Representatives, led by Speaker Dr. Hanafi Gebali, approved the law, granting Medlog the commitment to manage the 10th of Ramadan dry port and logistics center.
